BE A BLESSING TO SOMEONE.

‘Wealth is not to feed our egos, but to feed the hungry and to help people help themselves’- Andrew Carnegie.

BE A BLESSING

The easiest way to be blessed is to be a channel of blessing to people around you. If you are fortunate to be rich, realize that it’s not meant solely for you.  Let the less privileged in the society feel the impact of your blessings. No matter how bad the economy is, most of us are still better off than others. We ought to remember those in need among us and invest in the lives of people. The more you give, the more you receive- this is a principle that works always. Your giving initiates God’s giving back to you.

“If you say ‘It’s my money, I had to work hard for it, so should they.’ But did you know the following facts

  • Six million children under five years die every year of starvation?
  • One out of seven people goes to bed hungry every night?
  • The three richest people on the planet have more collective wealth than the combined gross national product of the world’s forty-eight poorest countries?”

General Booth, who founded the Salvation Army, said, ‘How can you convince a man of the love of God if his feet are perishing with the cold?’ If you want God to answer your prayers, first of all be an answer to that poor man who needs food, clothing, and shelter from the rain. Do your kindness at home and away. Be a light in somebody’s darkness. Don’t say ‘how can I reach all the poor people in my country?’  Mother Theresa said “If you can’t feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” Start with your relatives, afterwards, your community before the entire nation and the world.

As Ben Carson (Retired world renowned neurosurgeon, and Republican Presidential Aspirant) rightly said “If wealth is the secret to happiness, then the rich should be dancing on the streets.” Wealth doesn’t guarantee happiness, but when you give for a just cause, there’s this inner satisfaction and happiness you feel that is beyond description.

‘Cast your bread upon the waters…after many days you will find it again.’

FEED THE POOR

Lesson: “The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.”
