WASH YOUR HOMEMADE FACE MASKS BEFORE USE.
The homemade (local) face masks should not be worn immediately after purchase without washing it properly with enough water and soap. You know the ‘Nigerian factor’ of trying on something before buying it. It’s also happening with face masks made locally by tailors. Recently, I read about a bus conductor who wanted to buy a face mask from a roadside vendor, he picked 5 face masks and tried them on before he finally paid for one. If that bus conductor happens to be COVID-19 positive, you can imagine how many persons he has infected already.
Let’s be careful with our homemade face masks. Soak in soapy water, wash and dry immediately after buying it and after using it each day.
Be extra careful not to touch the front of your mask and your eyes, nose and mouth when removing your face covering, and wash your hands after handling your mask according to the CDC (Centers for Disease control).
Please stay safe!
