LESSON FROM COVID-19: THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD
I would like to start by paying allegiance to those that lost their loved
ones to COVID-19. May the Lord heal your wounds.
At a point in time, everything stood still. People were told to lock down
and stay indoors, the ultimate was survival! Nonetheless, the earth kept
on rotating on its axis and the day never stopped to turn into night.
This shows that the earth is not under the control or influence of man, but God
controls everything from age to age. The world can survive without
man’s input, but takes direction from its creator.
Then, the saying goes “what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world (which
he has no control over) and lose his own soul?” when God snaps his fingers,
the whole earth melts away! At that moment, man is faced with eternity.
Have you thought of this saying- Life is too short, but eternity is forever?
Where are you going to spend your forever? Heaven or hell?
Heaven is His throne, the earth is His footstool. He reigns forever in the
affairs of men. The pursuits of everyday human life is an exercise in futility
without God.
