Life itself is a fight. You must participate to win!
Whatever competition you are involved in, give it your best and fight to win!
To get a trophy in any sport events, first of all you have to participate; play according to the rules of the game, and practice until you become the best. Recently, I was at my son’s school for their Annual Inter-House sport competition. He sat down throughout the event watching his fellow pupils compete in one sport or the other. I asked him while he didn’t participate in any of the events, he answered that he was only interested in playing football, and since football game wasn’t part of the competition, he wasn’t going to take part in any other sports. When it was time to give out trophies to the winners in the various sports, he got so agitated watching his peers receive trophies without getting one himself, so, I had to lecture him on the topic “Trophies are for champions.” Like I told my dear son, ‘you don’t get a trophy by sitting down and doing nothing. If you want one of those trophies, get up and participate and work hard to be a champion.’
In life, many people are spectators; they fold their hands and watch life pass them by. Some others are busy criticizing the mistakes made by those that are actively participating and gaining ground, without even making any attempt to become relevant. Please, keep in mind that there is no trophy for spectators. Trophies are reserved for the best people in every aspect of human endeavors.
Nobody succeeds in life without putting in an effort! Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all diligence until you become a reference point. If you want to be a winner in life, you have to work hard to get to the top. Wishes are for onlookers, while trophies are for participants! Don’t just wish for life to get better, participate and work at having the best in life.
Preparation is key to becoming a champion, but discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments. As you prepare to be a champion, you have to be disciplined enough to follow the daily routines required of a champion. Winning starts from within. If you have succeeded in your mind, it’s only a matter of time before your fame is evident to all.
Champions are ordinary people with extraordinary determination to succeed. According to John Mason, ‘The breakfast of champions is not made of cereals; but obstacles.’ Also, Dan Gable remarked that ‘Gold medals are not made of gold, they are made of sweat, determination and uncommon determination to hold on.’
In life, some are spectators while some are participators. You have to get involved actively! The onus lies on you to fight the good fight of faith and lay hold of the prize…
