STOP SEEKING PEOPLE’S APPROVAL.

If you keep seeking people’s approval over everything you do, sooner or later you will burn out and become disillusioned with life. Striving for approval is like being addicted to a substance or drug. You can never have enough of it, and when it’s withheld you go crazy. Once you have learnt to appreciate and love the person you are, you don’t have to struggle for people’s approval, because it places you at the mercy of other people’s opinions, and as a result you live on an emotional roller coaster.

Your destiny is not at the mercy of someone’s opinion of you. Your self-worth and dignity should not be placed or built on acceptance by people. It’s good to be appreciated by people when you do something worthwhile, but don’t go about worrying about what others think of you, it will wear you out and decrease your productivity and efficiency. If you don’t know your worth, you will continue to seek other people’s approval and be their prisoner. Live your life and know that you can’t possibly please everyone.

Most times the people you are trying to get their approval are probably not interested in what you do, or are too busy thinking about themselves. Striving for approval is a sign of immaturity and low self-esteem. The cure is to bring focus into your life and strive for excellence in whatever you do. Stop derogating yourself and don’t get distracted by the negative comments from people. As long as you are adding value to life, remain steadfast and seek approval from God.

Sometimes, you may be afraid of taking a major leap in life because of what people will say. All Progress in life involves risk and overcoming fear. Concentrate on achieving your goals in life until you become a reference point. It doesn’t matter how small your beginning is, continue to add value to life little by little and climb your way to the top, then your work will speak well of you.

Happy Easter celebration.
